Dr. Salcido began her veterinary career in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she worked as support staff at a veterinary practice for cats and dog. She knew that a veterinary degree would be a great way to merge her loves of science and animals. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in biology at Pomona College in Claremont, CA, then obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Tufts University in Massachusetts.

During her summer breaks in veterinary school, she performed cancer research at the Stanford University School of Medicine. After practicing veterinary medicine in the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern Virginia, she finally decided to settle down in the San Diego area to be closer to family. She enjoys surgery, dentistry, internal medicine, emergency medicine, and preventive care, but above all else, she finds great satisfaction in relieving animal suffering and nurturing the human-animal bond.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading novels, hiking, and exploring the area with her husband and young daughter, Claire. She and her family have 2 Labrador mixes and a Chihuahua/dachshund mix.
