Brief Job Description: The Associate Veterinarian, with primary responsibility for the medical and surgical care of patients, is also central to relations and staff management. They must meet the standard of care, practicing AAHA standards of medicine and surgery on all species seen at the practice. They also must handle patient and practice emergencies in a time and responsible manner and may need to work hours beyond those scheduled. They must keep accurate, complete, and timely records. Associate veterinarians must complete required continuing education, follow our policies, be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, and be able to stand for extended periods of time. Registered Veterinary Technician
Brief Job Description: The Veterinary Technician holds a key role in the practice, managing the technical workload of the day. They must effectively interface with veterinarians, front office staff, and support staff. The position requires strong technical and animal handling skills, organization skills, operational knowledge, and the ability to lift 50 lbs and to stand for extended periods. Veterinary technicians are effective at handling client appointments, managing surgical suites and equipment, providing AAHA patient care and conducting diagnostics, assisting in surgery and maintaining records and OSHA standards.
Brief Job Description: A veterinary assistant supports veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care, examiniations, medical testing, treatments, and surgery. Veterinary assistants are also called to assist up front and the kennel staff with admission, care and discharge of patients and boarders. This position requires professional knowledge interactions with practice staff and clients and substantial animal handling skills. A veterinary assistant must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods.
Client Service Representative
Brief Job Description: A CSR is a client relations specialist and the first face of the practice, interacting with clients in person, by phone, and through correspondence. As such, a CSR must have strong general knowledge of the practice and its services, staff, and processes. A CSR mustbe presentable and communicate in a friendly, reassuring, and professional AAHA manner. A CSR works with computer, billing and maintains records, invoice clients, and send correspondence. Some animal handling skills are necessary as the CSR greets patients, gathers information, and settles clients and patients in examination rooms of the hospital. Duties require the CSR to interact and communicate with all practice staff and to maintain the reception area. A CSR may be required to stand for extended perios and lift up to 50 pounds.
Brief Job Description: The kennel assistant has primary responsiblity for maintenance of the kennel area and cage areas, including the general welfare of all patients and boarders, the daily care of patients and boarders, and the cleanliness of these areas. The kennel assistant must interact professionally with clients and practice staff. Substantial skills in animal handling and an ability to recognize problems are critical. The kennel assistant’s job is physical and requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods of times. Maintaining the animals, cages, kennels and work zone in a clean and healthy manner is crucial at all times.
Brief Job Description: Professional groomers are dedicated to keeping our furry friends happy and healthy. While it goes without saying that groomers are animal lovers, there is much more involved in the role of a dog/cat groomer, such as patience, physical stamina, and excellent interpersonal skills. Groomers must have a combination of experience and knowledge to take proper care of their furry clients. Cleaning ears and nails, as well as trimming fur, ensures cleanliness and helps the groomer understand each dog’s general state of health. Brushing, bathing and drying dogs also falls under the umbrella of a groomer’s responsibilities, so having a strong knowledge of best grooming practices is critical for a proper groom. Not all breeds are the same! Professional dog/cat groomers must be familiar with different breeds and also know how to work with older dogs/cats and puppies/kittens.
