Dr. Haley Rubia - Veterinarian

Dr. Haley Rubia was born and raised in Los Angeles County and has dreamed of becoming a veterinarian since childhood.

Her journey began at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona), where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science with a minor in Physiology. She then headed to the University of Minnesota, completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2026.

She has a special interest in clinical pathology, where she enjoys interpreting bloodwork and microscopic samples to help in diagnosing and treating diseases. As a new graduate veterinarian at Otay Pet Vets, she’s excited to continue learning and to meet all the furry, scaled, and feathered friends who come through the clinic doors.

Outside of work, Dr. Rubia is known among family and friends as a cozy homebody who loves to unwind with YouTube, TV shows, anime, movies, games, books, and crochet projects. When she is in the LA area, she cherishes time spent with her family, friends, and her family dachshund Cupcake.
